Do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour.
—Matthew 10:19

I talk to a LOT of entrepreneurs, speakers and leaders each week. And just about all of of them–especially if they are attracted to working with the Godfidence Business School–are extremely focused, proactive go-getters.

But what they also share is that they struggle with finding their message—what they are going to say, how they are going to say it, where they will share it and so on. And what they usually tend to do when they are in this situation is think more, write more and worry more in order to find it.

Here’s my never-fail 3-step secret to finding your marketplace message.

1. Look at God’s message.

That’s right…  Consider Christ for a minute. He came, He walked the Earth, and He was all that ever could be embodied into a human body. That’s what I believe.

But when you look at His message, it was not about just who He was, it was about what he offered. It was about the invitation. It was about the transformation. It was about something that people were seeking for themselves.

His  message had nothing to do with, “Look at me!”  He used the method of attracting people’s hearts, not by focusing on Himself, but speaking to their hearts.

2. Stop thinking about yourself.

One of the biggest traps is when you believe your message is something that’s all about you. You (and you are not alone!) can get so caught up in how you sound, what words you use, how you come across, and exactly what aspect of you will connect with your ideal client. Big mistake! The most authentic and compelling messages arrive from when you keep your focus on who you serve and what that person needs.

And, here’s the most important thing.

3. Don’t worry so much.

That’s it. The secret is not to work or think or scheme more. The secret is simply to shift your focus.

I promise you this: One of the big reasons you remain confused about your voice and message is that you are still thinking about yourself. “What am I going to share? How am I going to share it? Everyone else sounds so together…” Sound familiar?

In order to step into all you are meant to become and to receive the fullness of the message you are truly here to deliver, you have to take the focus off yourself.

Keep your focus on who you serve and what is going on with them.

What you are to say will be given to you.

So here is what you should ask yourself:  What stirs your spirit?  What impact do you want to have on others?  If there was one thing—just one message—you could share with others….what would that one thing be?

The key is to realize that God speaks to us as a voice. You are not a voice…you ARE voice. Your life is a message. You have something to say. You have something amazing to share. It doesn’t have to be complex. It just has to reflect the heartbeat of Heaven. That’s why you’re here. To be voice and vehicle for the Most High God.

So tell me, what is YOUR message?
